Next week is looking a bit warmer! Hopefully we can get the kiddos
outside, at least for lunch recess. It's been a tough couple of weeks of
indoor recess and everybody is going a bit stir crazy!!! News For the families that were able to come, Math Night was a lot of fun! Each
family got a package to take home with a deck or cards, a dice and
instructions on how to play the games. If you were not able to attend and
would like a [...]

It's looking like next week is not going to be any warmer than this week –
students will continue to stay in for recess and lunch. However, please
ensure that you are sending your children to school with warm, winter
clothing – winter jackets, snow pants, hats, mitts and boots. Being outside

Planning for Next Year Starts in March

It seems like we will never be rid of winter or the polar vortex; we have spent more days inside than I care to count. The impact of the weather on students and staff is apparent – we are all cranky and are in desperate need of warmer weather! Hopefully spring will be upon us soon and everyone can get some fresh air!
It’s hard to believe that it is already March - it may seem like only four more months of school, but there is a still a tremendous amount of learning to happen! Students in all grades have been actively engaged in learning activities, and if you’ve been following us on Twitter (@BantingBestCBE), you’ll have seen some of the excellent work that they are producing. Students will have the opportunity to share their work with their families at our Student Led conferences on March 21 and 22.
March is also the start of our planning for next year. Every year we receive projections for student enrollment, and this is what we base our school based budget and staffing compliment on. While it is still early in the process, having an accurate student count helps us to best plan for the fall. If you have children that will be starting school, or you anticipate moving out of our boundaries, please let the office know.
