March 2019 Principal Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you to all the families that attended student-led-conferences. It was great to see so many students celebrating their accomplishments. We have been focusing on reading in literacy and basic facts in math for our school development plan and are pleased to see how many students are working hard to be successful readers and mathematicians. These foundational skills will serve your child throughout their life.

We continue to be a busy school with lots of activities and field trips happening for all students. Please check out our website and calendars for specific dates and times. This month we are pleased to have our grade 2, 5 & 6 students doing swimming lessons and our grade 5 & 6 students skiing/snowboarding.

Spring Break is just around the corner. A reminder that we are on break for two weeks starting March 23rd and ending on April 7th. Students return to school on Monday, April 8th. Friday March 23rd is a non-student day. Staff will be doing professional development.

Our next school council meeting is April 25th and our Spring Concert is May 9th. Our spring concert will include our kindergarten, grade one and grade two students. Please mark these dates on your calendar. Come out, learn and support your child.

Have a wonderful spring break. I hope you are able to find time to read, play and enjoy time with your children.

Sincerely,

Steve Wigglesworth,

Principal
