School Supply Lists

School supplies are distributed by teachers on Sept. 4, 2017. Students need to have a pair of indoor shoes and a backpack on the first day of school.

Noon Supervision *optional

CBE schools provide students in Grades 1-6 or in full-day kindergarten with the option of staying at school for lunch. If students opt to stay at school, they are required to pay for noon supervision service. This service provides students the opportunity to practice social skills supported by caring adult supervision.

The program requires registration and there is a fee to participate. A waiver process is in place for families who cannot afford to pay fees.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten classes begin on September 4, 2018. Kindergarten classes begin on Sept. 5, 2017. Staggered entry letters have been provided to the parents

Registration Information

Please visit our registration page for all registration details and registration forms.
www.cbe.ab.ca/registration/registration

Our school office opens on August 29, 2018 for registration.

Changes to My CBE Account

Over the summer, changes will be made to My CBE Account, the online parent account that allows families to pay fees or apply for a waiver, register for transportation and noon supervision, as well as view student progress.

Families will need to set-up new accounts to continue to do online transactions. To create a new account families will need to have their child’s CBE Student ID Number. Watch the CBE website in August for more information about the transition: www.cbe.ab.ca.

Fees & Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

There are a number of different ways you are able to pay school fees, including: online using VISA, MasterCard, VISA Debit or Interac Online; in-person at schools; or by sending in a cheque to the school or CBE.

You can find more information on school fees and waivers here: www.cbe.ab.ca/registration/fees-and-waivers.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

The yellow school bus pre-registration deadline closed on June 11, 2018. Routes for the 2018-19 school year are created over the summer based on the addresses submitted before the cut off date. While CBE Transportation continues to accept registrations, these registrations will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

Yellow school bus route maps will be posted by August 13 for modified calendar schools and August 29 for traditional calendar schools on the CBE website: www.cbe.ab.ca/busstop.

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration. It will include transportation fee information and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty by responding to the email or canceling using My CBE Account by October 31, 2018.

More information about 2018-19 transportation service levels and fees are posted on the CBE website: www.cbe.ab.ca/schools/busing-and-transportation/Pages/service-levels-and-fees.aspx

Conditional riders can also register using My CBE Account. Applications will be considered after eligible rides registrations have been processed.

Families are also reminded to keep their ZPass as this is a multi-year pass that will be reactivated and used again next year.

We look forward to a great year ahead. If you have any questions that we haven’t addressed here, please contact the school.
