Welcome Back

We hope that all of you had a wonderful summer and we are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. The staff at Citadel Park School have been very busy over the past three days preparing for the upcoming school year. School hours are 9:10 to 3:50 with our lunch break from 12:10 -1:00. Our recess break will now be in the afternoon from 2:30-2:45.

By now, many of you should have received a phone call from your classroom teacher, introducing themselves. On Tuesday morning starting at 8:55, teachers will be outside on our school field meeting students and parents. Please look for a grade level sign as you arrive. If you do not know who your child’s classroom teacher is, we will have staff out on the field and in the office to assist you in locating your child’s teacher. Our School Council has also invited all parents to stop off at their table in the front area of the school, for a free coffee and a chance to visit with other parents.

Power School

Many of you have already set up Power School accounts and have been able to access your child's profile. This is a new student information system that the CBE is experiencing some difficulties with at this time. Please be aware that teacher names may not be accurate as the system is taking longer than usual to update. We thank you for your patience in this matter.

Parking

As many of you already may be aware that parking is at a premium around our school both at drop-off and pick-up times. Many parents chose to accompany their children to school on the first day and we encourage you to walk or bike, if possible. If you are driving, please be prepared to park a significant distance away from the school and plan for extra time to walk. Student drop-off is not permitted in the driveway as this is for buses, or in the staff parking lot. Furthermore, construction on the new community center has already begun. Fences have been erected and these block the pathway access from Citadel Drive to the south side of the school. Drop-off, parking and pick-up are all discouraged in this community gravel parking lot, as we expect congestion from construction vehicles.

Bus Students

We ask all parents who have students that will be riding on the yellow school bus to visit the Citadel Park School website, under the ‘Registration’ tab to access bussing information. Please make sure your child knows the letter name of the bus (A, B or C) that they will be riding home on, as the school is not able to access bussing information.
