CHS Weekly Update February 28 - March 1

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Here are your updates for the week of February 25 – March 1

·         On Monday, February 25 rooms 3 & 4 (Flesch and Terner) and on Tuesday February 26 rooms 5 & 6 (Pinsch and Izyk) will be going to the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.  Students should come to school wearing adequate winter clothing to be outside for extended periods of time.  In the event of extreme cold weather, please check your email the morning of the trip for messages about possible trip cancellation.

·         Save the Date!  The next School Council meeting will take place on Thursday March 14 at 6:30 pm in our Learning Commons.  Please consider joining us as we begin to plan for the 2019-20 school year.

·         Ms. Brady will begin using our new snowshoes with students during physical education classes this week.  If you have time, please come and volunteer to help children get in and out of their snowshoes.  Click on this link to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A4DADA929A4FF2-funlunch22

·         CHEFS if looking for volunteers to help sort popcorn orders when they arrive.  Please click on this link if you are able to help out: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A4DADA929A4FF2-kernels1

·         On Wednesday, February 27 rooms 17, 19, and 20 will be hosting our Pink Shirt Day Assembly.  Parents of students in these classes are welcome to join us at 1:30 pm in the gym.  All students are encouraged to wear pink on this day to show their support.  Pink shirt day symbolizes that we do not tolerate bullying and promote kindness and acceptance.

·         On Thursday, February 28 we are hosting a Family Math Night.  Please join us between 4:00 – 6:00 pm (must enter the school by 5:30 pm) to participate in a variety of family friendly math games and activities!  We look forward to seeing all of our families.

·         There is no school for students on Friday, March 1 as it is a non-instructional day.

Have a great weekend.

Mrs. Pelling
