CHS Weekly Update May 20-24

Dear Parents and Guardians,

These are your updates for the week May 20-24.

  • Please note that there is no school on Monday, May 20 in observation of Victoria Day.
  • On Friday, May 24 at 11:30 am, rooms 3, 4, & 27 will be hosting a ‘COOPERATION’ themed assembly.  Parents and guardians of students in these classes may join us in the gym for this event.
  • We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together.  That is why we will be sharing a short presentation about the CBE budget and how we develop our own school budget after school on Wednesday, May 22 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.
    • At this meeting, learn:
      • Where funding for the CBE comes from and how it is spent
      • About the Resource Allocation Method (RAM) used to fund schools
      • How we estimate, then finalize, RAM for our school
  • A Message from the Coventry Hills Elementary Fundraising Society:
    • We are so excited for the Rodeo Roundup this coming Thursday and hope you are too!  As this is a fundraiser, we really need the volunteer support of our families to ensure the event runs smoothly.  You do not need to be a CBE cleared volunteer to help at this event!  If you would like to help, please click on the link to sign up:
  • Popsicle Days are coming! Once again, the Coventry Hills Fundraising Society is offering Popsicle days for students in grades 1-3.  If you are interested in your child participating, please click on the following link to order and pay through Healthy Hunger.
    • Please DO NOT send any cash to the school as only orders paid for through Healthy Hunger will be processed.
  • As advertised last week, we will be painting the no parking zone curbs around Coventry Hills School this coming weekend.  This event will take place on Saturday, May 25 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm (weather permitting).  Please consider helping us out!  With enough volunteers, we anticipate that the painting can be done in about two hours.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs. Pelling
