Remembrance Day Assembly

Breakfast Club
Our Breakfast Club program is provided for students who would not otherwise be able to access food for breakfast. Students participating in Breakfast Club are asked to arrive at the compound doors by 7:59am. Doors will close at 8:05am. Student will eat a nutritious breakfast, help to tidy up and then be outdoors at 8:15am when teachers begin outdoor supervision. If you have questions about Breakfast Club, please contact the office.
Traffic is an issue on the street in front of our school in the morning and after school. For the sake of our children, please choose safety over convenience, every time. Please be reminded that making a u-turn anywhere near the school is dangerous and illegal. If you can walk to school with your child, instead of driving, please choose to do so as this is a healthier choice to make and can help reduce traffic issues at our school. I have recently requested the support of Calgary Police Service to help deal with traffic issues at our school so you will see their presence at key times of the day. The most important thing is the safety of our children. Thank you!
Important Reminders for Students and Families
In the morning, school starts promptly at 8:30am. We expect children to arrive on time to school so students are not missing valuable learning time. Please remember to contact the school office prior to 8:45am at 403-777-6720 press: 1, to report any lateness or absences for your child.
If you plan to have your child stay at school for lunch, you must register for the lunch supervision program at: https://sis.cbe.ab.ca/public/home.html Please call the office if you require assistance with this.
Staff at Douglas Harkness School continue to use Twitter as a communication tool to share information, updates and images of the exciting learning opportunities taking place in your child’s classroom.  You do not need to have a Twitter account to be able to see what the teachers are posting, you can view posts here: https://twitter.com/DHarknessCBE however, if you do have a Twitter account, you are welcome to follow your child’s teachers and other accounts at our school which may be of interest to you.
