Principal's Message

March 2020

Happy March Family and Friends!
The students have been very busy since the Winter Break.  The whole student body participated in skating lessons and built up endurance, learned skating skills and a great time.  Recently, students enjoyed further developing their skills while working with the Alien In-line program.  It was fun and exciting to see so many families join us for the Family Skate Night!
Pink Shirt Day and Kindness Activities

To build a stronger community and raise awareness about behavior and impact, our grade 4/5 classes put on a wonderful assembly connected to anti-bullying, and Pink Shirt Day.  The students spent many hours writing the script, practicing their parts and they did a great job of performing at their assembly.  The focus on caring for one another, and being aware that our actions can be helpful or hurtful, was a powerful message.
Student Learning Conferences

At the end of March, we are looking forward to meeting with families for conferences.  Attending these sessions is an important way for you to learn about, and celebrate your child’s progress! We look forward to seeing you soon J.
Have a wonderful Spring Break!
Christina Tuttle,
Proud Principal, G.W. Skene School
