Learning Commons at the CBE

Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.

About Our Learning Commons

We have a very welcoming environment conducive to study and enjoyable use of the Learning Commons. New furniture including whiteboard tables, flexible seating and tables that easily transform from small to large group learning spaces can be found throughout the Learning Commons. Teachers frequently use the alternative teaching spaces for large and small group work. We have desktop computers set up in the Learning Commons as well as laptops and iPads available. Our shelves have many fiction and non-fiction books for students and teachers to use. At Glenbrook School we are always working towards updating our material and growing our resources for the engagement and learning needs of our student.

Lending Rules

Every classroom has the opportunity to exchange books once a week and every student is allowed to borrow up to two books each time. If a book is not returned or is returned damaged, this will stay on the student's school account until it is returned or paid for. We hope that every student treats the books with respect and care; please remember to keep food and liquids away from borrowed books.
