January 2018

I hope everyone had a restful and wonderful winter break filled with lots of laughter and time with family and friends! January is the month where we start to prepare for our annual Chinese New Year gala celebration. Thanks to the generous support of our School Council, we have hired Quest Theatre to work with the students to create a unique performance that celebrates both the Chinese and Indigenous cultures. Once again this year, the concert will take place at the Jubilee Auditorium on Tuesday, February 13 at 7:00 PM. Tickets will be sold in late January- early February. Details will be provided soon.

Thursday, January 18 at 6:30 PM will also be Highwood School’s Open House, for anyone who is interested in attending our program (and is designated to this school) for Kindergarten or Grade 1 starting in September 2018. Highwood parents are the best ambassadors for our program, so please tell all of your friends and family who are interested. Please note that due to the popularity of the program and the unpredictable numbers, we will be using the lottery system for registration which means that there is no guarantee for acceptance upon registration. Registration forms must be submitted by Tuesday, February 13th, and the lottery will take place on Wednesday, February 14th. After the lottery, all applicants will then be provided a letter that either confirms their placement, or states where they stand on the wait list.
