Upcoming Dates/Events

Good morning parents & guardians of our Jack James community,

I wanted to share with you some upcoming dates/events at Jack James High School:


Basketball & wrestling seasons have started. We are hosting basketball games from 4:30-6:30 Wednesdays (women's team) and Thursday's (men's team) starting this week and continuing until the end of January.

Students who are staying after school as a spectator for games/events are welcome to cheer on our teams, however will be asked to leave the school if they are not in the gym to watch the games.


Friday, November 23 - 

Non-Instructional Day, No classes for students.


Wednesday, November 28 -

Grade 9 Tours - Regular classes all day, Community building with our grade 9 guests.

Open House - 5:00-7:00 pm - all prospective, new & returning families to see our school and celebrate student learning.


Thursday, November 29-

Family Drum Night @ Forest Lawn High School 5:30-7:30 - Invitation attached.

It is a four school collaboration with Jack James, Forest Lawn, Ernest Morrow, and Ian Bazalgette.


School Council meeting @ Jack James HS 6:00 pm.


Friday, December 7 -

Non-Instructional Day, No classes for students.


Thursday, December 13-

School Council meeting @ Jack James HS 6:00 pm.


Wednesday, December 19-

Community Day - Regular classes for students. Community building activity to be announced.

December 24 - January 4 -

In light of Alberta Government Covid-19 guidelines that gatherings should not exceed 15 people, today's Public Board meeting will be held online only. The meeting begins at noon and will be live streamed.

Learn more about what students and families can expect to hear from their schools next week. Classes are cancelled and students will not be returning to their schools, but learning is ongoing. #wearecbe

Yesterday we sent a message to all Gr. 10, 11 and 12 families about diploma exams. Diploma exams are cancelled, but under special circumstances, students can request to write a diploma exam. For more info, see info on our website

All city and school playgrounds are closed effective immediately to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. City parks remain open. Let’s all work together to protect the public’s health. #WeAreCBE
