Summer message

Hello Jack James community,

I hope this communication finds you enjoying a relaxing and exciting summer. The staff at Jack James is certainly looking forward to meeting you if you are a new student or welcoming you back home if you are returning.  I think 2019-20 is going to be a great one for us all!

If you are an incoming grade 10 student, don’t be nervous.  We are planning activities to help get you settled in, including connecting you with a Jag Time teacher to help you navigate high school and to build strategies for success.  Our grade 11s and 12s will be there to support you along with the teachers, support staff and administration.

High school is a time of change and transition; you will meet new people and have opportunities for new experiences.  My advice to all of you is to get involved!  Join a team, be involved in community building, and take advantage of the many off-campus opportunities and/or career exploration opportunities you can.  You will get out of high school what you put into it.

If you are a returning student, welcome back!  A new year is a fresh start.  Take what you learned last year and build on it.  Take positive risks.  Get more involved in your school.  Push yourself to succeed.  If you are part of the Grad Class of 2020, congratulations!  This will be a year filled with memory making.  I look forward to shaking your hand as you cross the stage in June!

Enjoy your summer and I very much look forward to seeing you in the fall!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Gorkoff
