Learning Commons at the CBE

Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.

The Library at James Fowler

  • Gone are the days of a librarian shushing students in a repository of books!
  • A Learning Commons is meant to be inclusive, flexible, learner-centred space for collaboration, inquiry, imagination and play to expand and deepen learning
  • The Learning Commons should foster intellectual, academic and social engagement; increase access to all resources, and improve student autonomy

Library Hours

Monday - Thursday | 8:45 AM - 4:00 PM
Friday | 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
