Principal's Message

April News

Dear Parents,
Let me first apologize if you are not receiving all of these updates from School Messenger. We are in the process of updating some information within the system and hope to have them all up and running by next week.  Thank you for your patience.
Welcome back to school!
As you have now heard from your child's teacher and are aware of the "at home learning" that is going to be happening, we wanted to make sure that you had all resources available to you for the next few weeks of learning.
As a Kindergarten - Grade 3 school, our focus, as directed from Alberta Education, will be on Literacy and Mathematics.  Our teachers are in the process of working on a variety of tasks, activities and learning outcomes that will provide your children with creative ways of representing their learning and understanding in Literacy and Mathematics.
Beginning the week of April 6,2020, grade teams will be providing you all the learning tasks for the week, broken down by day. These week long plans will be posted on the teacher blogs will be posted between Sunday night and Monday at 8am.  All learning tasks need to be handed into teachers via photo, email, Google docs, etc by 5pm on Friday. Please remember that students should be working on these tasks each day, opposed to completing them all at once and it needs to be student generated work.   These at home learning tasks should take approximately 1 hour/day and of course you are able to do as much reading each day as you want.  READING will always be a benefit!  Students also have access to Mathletics to complete some fun games and even challenge other students from around the world with math goals!
We would also like to remind you that all of our specialist teachers have also got their blog pages up with fun activities to keep you busy over the next few weeks as well.  Parents, you are also welcome to look at the CBE website for additional at home ideas to keep your children engaged and learning.
You can click on the following link to find all of our teacher's blogs:
In the event that you are unable to print, write, copy, take a photo or complete your child's work through an online format and require a paper copy of the at home learning tasks,  you must email Mrs.Taylor at  and she will create a package of the tasks where you will need to come to the school at a designated time each Monday to collect the package and return it each Friday at a designated time.  This option is only available if you have no other way of completing the tasks online.
We would like to thank you in advance for working with us in these unique times.  We look forward to developing our online learning capacities with you and our students in the coming weeks and hope to see each of you soon.
There will continue to be updates as the days and weeks progress so please be sure to watch our website and check your emails on a regular basis.
Wishing you all the best and hope each of you continues to be healthy and safe as you learn at home.
Thank you,
Mrs. Taylor
