Principal's Message

Oct./Nov. 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Autumn is here and we are basking in the change of colors, yet, the temperature tells us clearly that sooner or later, winter will come.
Our classrooms and population have been very stable. For August 2018, MSB School was projected to have 515 students for school start up. Presently our numbers are at 483. These reduced numbers will be monitored moving forward.
Students come to MSB School to learn. Most students arrive on time, prepared to learn. We are appreciative of that. When stu-dents arrive, their learning begins and the engagement process takes place. This affords the student the best learning experience. Sadly, we continue to notice how many students are missing out on learning by arriving late. When a student comes late, they not only interrupt their own learning, but the learning of 25 other students when they enter the class to settle in for the day’s learning. Please consider the importance of late arrivals on your child’s learning as well as the learning of others. Having our students arrive on time, ready to learn will allow them to receive instructions to begin their learning day together and be a part of a successful day of achievement.
Safety and Security
In an effort to keep all students safe, our front doors are equipped with a camera and will remain locked. There is a door bell/speaker phone which will signal the office to open the doors for all visitors coming to the school. All visitors will be required to sign the visitor register at the office and wear a visitor ID tag while in the school.
We are appreciative of parent/guardian support in this effort. We want every family to feel welcome, and every child to feel safe. This is a school-wide initiative and students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 are asked to embrace this practice. Parent support is key to keeping all our children safe.
It is important to note that there have not been any security issues at our school and this measure is totally proactive to continue to keep all our students safe.
K. Bauer, Principal
