Principal's Message

Thanks for your Commitment to Our School

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your commitment to this great school. Your support, inside and outside of the classroom is invaluable. There is a group of parents and grandparents in our school weekly reading with children. There is a committee of parents and staff working on our 50th anniversary and another group working on our branding, motto and logo. There is a group of parents who work behind the scenes planning special events and another group who organize fun lunches and go on field trips. We are so blessed to have such caring and compassionate partners in education. Thank you so much!
Your voice is very important to us. As we set direction for our school and make decisions which impact you and your family, we want to hear how you feel. Recently we sent home a school wide survey. A great big thank you to all the good folks who took the time to fill it out. Results from the survey will be shared at the next school council meeting. In addition to this survey, all parents of students in Grade 4 have been sent home a Pillar Survey from the Alberta Government. Please take the time to complete this survey. It is one of the data sources used by schools when creating our plans and our School Development Plan.
The math challenge has been a big success. Please continue to encourage your child to complete and submit each month. Another big thank you to the parents who are donating the prizes for our math challenge. We very much appreciate your generosity.
We have an incredible school because of the hard work and dedication of our students, parents and staff. Thank you so much for your continued support as we strive to make the learning opportunities at Nellie engaging, relative and effective. Happy Valentine’s Day and happy February!
