Welcome to a new school year! September has been a time of building relationships and creating a sense of belonging for all students and their families. Welcome to our new students and families to Somerset. Thank you to our School Council and FSSF for sponsoring our Welcome Back Family Picnic entertainment. We had a wonderful turn out and students and families in attendance were able to connect with one another and our teaching staff. Please support our School Council and FSSF “Admazing Coupon Book Fundraiser” that helps enhance the learning experience for students with such things as guest performances, library books and physical education equipment.
One of the greatest predictors of student achievement is strong working relationships between students, teachers, parents and the community. The Somerset School Council and Friends of Somerset School Foundation first meeting is on Sept. 26. All parents and guardians are welcome and invited to attend. Thank you to our executive and committee chairs for our Somerset School Council and Friends of Somerset School Foundation for the 19-20 school year.

Communication is Key – Our Door is Always Open
To best support student learning we know open and constructive home and school communication is key. We encourage you to contact your child’s teacher directly with any questions or concerns you may have with any issues. Working together sends a clear and important message to all students that we care deeply about their individual needs and that together, we have their best interests in mind to be safe, secure and successful.
