One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the School Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school.​​ You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook​.​​​​

The Altadore School Parent Advisory Council is a strong and active body that is integral to our school’s operation and success. The PAC works collaboratively with the school administration and staff to significantly enhance learning opportunities for students. It also provides an opportunity for parents to learn more about the school, support initiatives and provide input. 

School Council Bulletin Board

Our bulletin board is located in the hallway by the office. It contains information about the Council, its activities, programs, and financial reporting. A second bulletin board for general parent information is located in the main hallway. It contains information of a general nature on a variety of topics. If you are interested in posting something to this board, please submit it to the office for approval and display.

Meeting Dates/Schedule

School Council meets the second Wednesday of each month in the Learning Commons from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Childcare is provided.
