Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissals days and events, see our school calendar page.


First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Tuesday, September 4, 2018 and the school office will be open to parents on Monday, August 27, 2018.

We will have a staggered entry for kindergarten during the first week of school. Children will attend during the regular kindergarten hours on Tuesday or Wednesday. Kindergarten parents will be informed via email as to which days their child will attend during the first week.

Teachers will send an email home on Friday, August 31, 2018 to inform families of class placements and where to meet on the first day of school.

School Supply Lists

We provide school supplies for our students. Families do not need to purchase supplies for their children and no fee will be charged. We do ask that parents send a pair of indoor shoes for their children as well as a nutritious snack for recess. Students will also need to bring a bag lunch if they stay over the noon hour.

Lunch Supervision

Our lunch is from 12:15 to 1:05 pm.  In order to alleviate crowding, students in Grades 1-3 will eat first for the first part of the lunch hour, and will then go outside to play. Students in Grades 4-6 will go outside for the first part of the lunch hour and then go in to eat for the latter portion of the lunch break.

Assigned Teachers

Families will be informed of their child’s classroom teacher via School Messenger on the morning of Friday, August 31, 2018. Families who have not received a message by noon that day can call the school to find out about their child’s class placement.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

There are a number of different ways you are able to pay school fees, including: online using VISA, MasterCard, VISA Debit or Interac Online; in-person at schools; or by sending in a cheque to the school or CBE.​

Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2019-20 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Oct. 31, 2019.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.​​
