Health & Wellness at the CBE

At the CBE, we believe in a whole school approach to health and wellness. We call this our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) approach. CSH is about healthy eating, active living, supportive social environments and positive mental health. As a system, we focus on the following four areas: healthy eating; healthy relationships; physical activity; and positive mental health. Each school creates its own approach and goals for health and wellness.

Buchanan Breakfast Bunch

Welcome back to another exciting year at Buchanan. Breakfast started very slowly but has picked up. We have been having things like cereal, toast, pancakes, smoothies and apple crisp with ice cream. We were given a lot of apples from a lady in the neighborhood. I used some to make the apple crisp. The students have also been eating apples for snack time. More will be made into apple sauce. Thank you to the staff at Kids Come First for helping out with breakfast and to Beyzagul’s mom who comes to volunteer every day. I am looking forward to adding a few different things to our breakfast program this year. Thanks to Breakfast Clubs of Canada and FANS for sponsoring our school for another year.
