We’re proud of our school and like to share our spirit.

Jersey Day - Ms. Vallee

In commemoration of the Calgary Flames’ first week of the regular season and to promote school spirit, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, CJM will be celebrating "Wear Your Jersey Day!" Show your pride by wearing a jersey to school (this could be your own team’s jersey or a favourite team’s jersey). Please join staff and students and wear a jersey to kick off the first school spirit day of this year.

School Assemblies

We have total school assemblies, at least once per month. They are usually on the last Thursday each month, but occasionally, an assembly may be on a different day. Assemblies provide an opportunity for students and teachers to share publicly special classroom work or accomplishments and be recognized by the rest of the school. Some assemblies are held to commemorate special events such as Remembrance Day. From time to time situations arise that cause us to gather as a total school. Such are more spontaneous gatherings which we are unable to announce in advance. All parents are invited to attend our assemblies. Check our Calendar page for assembly dates and times.

School Virtues

We have our “Virtues Awards” at an assembly each month – usually on the last Thursday each month.

We have identified one special virtue for each month of the year. Teachers work with the students to teach them about this virtue especially, and encourage them to practice it. During the month each homeroom teacher carefully observes how the students are demonstrating this virtue. Each teacher chooses one student from his/her homeroom who has demonstrated this virtue in a special way. This student receives the “Virtues Award” for their class at the assembly.

We, of course, encourage all students to conduct themselves at all times, by practicing as many virtues as possible.

Virtues for 2017-18

  • September – Respect
  • October – Thankfulness
  • November – Peacefulness
  • December – Kindness
  • January – Diligence
  • February – Love
  • March – Reliability
  • April – Tolerance
  • May – Trust
  • June – Integrity
