Phone in for Safety

Parents are reminded to phone our Attendance Line above to notify the school if their child is going to be absent or late on any given day. If your child’s absence is unaccounted for, the school’s automated calling system will notify you by phone and / or email. If you have a personal mobile phone, you have the choice of having the system call your mobile phone to ensure that you personally get the messages. Upon receiving an absence notice, please call the school office or send in a written note to let us know the reason for the absence.

To ensure delivery of all school messages to you, please make sure that your contact phone numbers and email addresses are up to date. The phone-in system is a precautionary measure that tries to ensure every child arrives safely at school. It can only work effectively if parents remember to phone in their child’s absences and late arrivals. Your co-operation with the phone-in policy is very much appreciated.

Arriving Late to School

Parents are asked to bring late arriving students to the school office to sign in and receive a late pass to enter the classroom. As all school doors are locked at 8:10 AM and remain locked until the end of the school day, please ring the bell at our school’s main entrance to gain admission to the office to sign in your child.

Picking Up Students at Dismissal

When you are regularly picking up a student at dismissal time, it is requested that you wait at the main doors in the mudroom until the students are dismissed. In nice weather please wait outside to help reduce congestion in the entranceway. If you are picking up a student who normally takes the bus home, please inform the office by 2:15 PM and we will inform the student to meet you at the front doors.
