One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Under the School Act, a parent society is a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. The school principal is not part of this group. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

Dedicated parents make up the School Association which provides funding for many value-added programs. Through committed fund raising efforts, the School Association have made possible many of the residencies and other value-added programs and activities. Both the School Association and the School Council offer parents a number of rewarding volunteer positions for parents wishing to become involved.

Our Parent Society is Known as the Colonel Walker Parent Association
