Principal's Message

Principal Update March 17

Dear Coventry Hills  Parents and Guardians,
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, and I hope this email finds you well and healthy. Thank you for all of your patience and understanding during these challenging and unprecedented times that we are working through as a society. Due to the sudden cancellation of classes throughout Alberta, many students have left personal belongings here at school. We have created (below) a schedule of when parents or guardians may come in and collect necessary items. All students who come to the school, must be accompanied by an adult, to make this brief visit.
We would like one parent or guardian to come to school to pick up shoes and or clothing that your child/children have left at school.  Any stored medication will also be made available for you to take home. Please return all school materials like Library or Home Reading books, when you arrive at school during your designated time. These materials may be left under the table, in bins provided.
All communication to our families is being directed and coordinated from our CBE Leadership Team.  Teachers have been directed to not respond directly to individual parents, but please know our teachers and support staff wish that all families remain in good health and keep safe.
Teachers will not be available to students or parents/guardians, in accordance with AHS recommended social distancing protocols.
We recognize that this may not be convenient for all families and we will have another opportunity for picking up items after Spring Break.
Please DO NOT come to school if
you are ill with respiratory illness symptoms (fever, cough, fatigue, and/or muscle aches)
you or any family members have been traveling
have been directed to self-isolate
need to self-isolate based on AHS protocols
There will be other times set up to pick-up items after Spring Break.
Parents/Guardians will need to come in and out of the building through the front doors at the main entrance. All other doors will be locked.
Enter the school and proceed directly to the tables in the Grand Hall. You do not need to come to the office.
Please follow the personal hygiene recommendations from Alberta Health Services regarding hand washing, personal space, etc.
Once you have your materials and belongings, please leave the school right away.
Please do not gather in the school to socialize with others.
We are trying to mitigate any large gatherings, so please follow the specific schedule provided. You are not to remain in the building any longer than required to pick up your belongings.
At this time, the CBE is working on how students will continue to engage in learning. More information will be shared as soon as we have direction. Until then, we ask that you continue to visit the CBE FAQ for parents.
As this situation evolves, families and students will continue to be updated by email. Please check your email regularly for further information.
Take care of your families and yourselves. Be safe and healthy!
Sincerely, Jean Hugill, Acting Principal
