Band Note #8 June 2019

The David Thompson Junior High Band Society Council would like to thank all those who came out to the end-of-year concert. The students played beautifully, and it was a perfect evening for the event. Thank you as well, to the Parent Council, who spearheaded the end-of-year BBQ.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. McClary, who will sadly be leaving us at the end of this year. We appreciate all his time and effort spent with the band students, as well as the Band Society, and we wish him all the best in his next endeavor.

Lastly, best wishes to all of our grade nine students who will be moving on to the next exciting chapter of their lives! Best of luck in your future studies!

Look Ahead to September 2019

  • The Annual General Meeting of the Band Society Council will be held on Tuesday, September 17th. Additional details to follow regarding time and location in the fall. We welcome all parents to attend. The following positions are up for election:
    • President
    • Treasurer
    • Fundraising
    • Secretary
  • Some of our members have students who are graduating at the end of this year, so it is imperative that we have new people joining us. The time commitment is small, but rewarding!

Have a great summer! See you in September!

Please see note in Resources section.

RT @cityofcalgary: It’s almost that time of year: students are heading back to school! Take extra caution in and around playground zones, and remember that the maximum speed in playground zones is 30 km/h, 7:30 am to 9 pm, 7 days/week. Passing isn’t permitted when the zone is in effect. https://t.co/48Aw3jZUgg
