Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


First Day of Classes - Tuesday, September 3, 2019

Grade 5 students – All Grade 5 students, and parents who choose to accompany them on their first day, will proceed to the Main Gym for a brief welcome by the administration and an introduction of the Grade 5 teaching team.  Homeroom teachers will accompany their students to their classrooms to help familiarize them with the school routines and to engage in community building activities for the morning.   Timetables will be distributed and lockers will be assigned. Once they have left the gym, parents can carry on with the rest of their day.  Administrators will be available to answer any questions that parents may still have.   Please note that students will attend regular classes for the afternoon.

Grade 6-9 students – Homeroom lists will be posted in the Main Foyer. Students will proceed directly to their homeroom class where they will be for the entire morning. Students will receive their timetables, lockers and be reacquainted with our school environment. There will be regular classes during the afternoon.

  • Period 1 - 8:00 to 8:33 AM
  • Period 2 - 8:33 to 9:06 AM
  • Period 3 - 9:06 to 9:39 AM

Noon Supervision / Healthy Hunger

All Grade 5/6 students will eat lunch in the cafeteria from 11:22am - 11:44am.  Grades 7-9 students may stay in the building to eat in the hallways or a supervised classroom or they are permitted to leave the school campus. From 11:44am - 12:02pm, all students have access to the outside field, Computer Lab, Learning commons, Intramurals in the gym, and extra help in supervised classrooms. 

Healthy Hunger will be available for parents/guardians to make orders the week of September 3rd. The first lunch will be delivered on Monday, September 16, 2019. Lunches will be delivered on Mondays and Wednesdays with one week Tuesday/Wednesday to accommodate Edo. 

Assigned Teachers 

Student timetables will be available using the new PowerSchool app on Monday, August 26, 2019. Please note that changes are still being made and that timetables are not entirely accurate until the first day of classes. Please see the CBE website for more information on PowerSchool. If you have any concerns or questions regarding your student's timetable please contact Mrs. Muhlberger in the Main Office. Please keep in mind that any adjustments will be considered in consultation with teaching teams taking into account factors such as class size, learning needs and peer relationships.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.
