First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Tuesday, Sep. 3, 2019 and the school office is open to parents on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019.

Returning Students – All returning students will go directly to their classroom, as per the information sent out at the end of August - if you forgot your classroom go to the Auxiliary Gym.

New Students – Grade 4 student and students new to Dr. George Stanley will meet in the Auxiliary Gym.

School Supply Lists

School supplies will be provided by Dr. George Stanley School and will be distributed to students by teachers. Some specialty items or consumables, such as facial tissues, bandaids, etc., may be requested from families as the year progresses.

Healthy Hunger is available to our students Monday - Thursday through the Healthy Hunger homepage. Our students run a little Tuckshop that sells treats and some microwavable meals for those days when lunches are forgotten.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2019-20 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Oct. 31, 2019.

More information about 2019-20 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.​​​
