Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes for Grade 5 students is Sept. 3, 2019. Our first day of classes for students in Grades 6 – 9 is Sept. 4, 2019. The school office is open to parents on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at 9:00 AM.

Finding Your Teacher on the First Day

Grade 5 - September 3, 2019 - The grade 5 teachers will meet their students in the main gym in the morning of September 3, 2019 starting at 8:15. At 8:30 the classes will move upstairs to their new rooms.

School Start and End Times

Our bell times for all grades are Monday – Thursday 8:30 AM – 3:11 PM & Friday
8:30 AM – 12:20 PM. On November 20, 21 and March 18 and 19 we have Interviews, students will be dismissed at 12:00 on these days. We will also have early dismissal days from June 22 - 26, the last week of the school year.

School supply lists are posted on our school website or are available from the school office for grade 7, 8 and 9. Grade 5 and 6 will have most supplies provided by the school. Please see the list posted to the right.

Noon Supervision

Noon supervision is provided for all students, and students in Grades 5 or 6 who stay at the school for lunch must register for this service. A drop-in fee is charged for students staying at school for lunch on a casual basis. Our servery will open on Sept. 4, 2019.

Assigned Teachers

Your child’s homeroom teacher will contact you and your student before the first day of school to introduce themselves, and let families know where their students will be meeting on the first day of class.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2019-20 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Oct. 31, 2019.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.​​​
