Online Learning

Schedule:

As per CBE guidelines, students in grades 7-9 should be aiming for 10 hours per week of time spent on Core classes (math, hum, science).  We understand that some of you may have commitments that could impact your ability to “join” at the times below. We encourage you to find your 10 hours per week at whatever time works best for you in your situation.  If you are able to “join” in at the below times, that’s great. If not, don’t worry as we will make it work and are still accessible by email during regular school hours.

During the times below, you will have real-time access to your regular core teacher to support you in your learning.  Each day, in the “Announcements” section of the D2L homepage, your teacher will post a message as to how the access will look that day.  For example, some days it might be an online chat, some days it may be via Google Meet, some days it might be some other format. The link or information will always be found in the “Announcements” area.

Monday-Thursday:

Sc 91&92 Mon&Tues 11 am-12 pm, Sc 93&94 Wed&Thu 11 am- 12 pm

Physed and CTF have also created optional activities for students which have been shared on teacher D2L websites and can also be accessed by students following these instructions:  To enter your PE and CTF Google Classrooms, log into Google Drive and click on Google Apps. Once in there, go to Google Classroom and enter the codes below to join your classes.

To login, just google “CBE D2L” or click this link:  https://d2l.cbe.ab.ca/d2l/loginh/

  1. Enter the same user ID and password that you would to login to a computer at school.

  2. Once you have logged in, you will see your Courses.  These are D2L shells that your teachers have set up for you.

  3. Click on the Course you want to go into.

  4. On the homepage of the Course, you will see “Announcements”.  This is a very important area as your teachers will post all updates and assignments here.  Please check announcements for every course every day.

This video link offers a step by step process for students and parents to log into D2L (note:  parents must log in as student to see full course and content).
