IMPORTANT DATES

  • February - High School registration completed at DMC.  Forms and information on course selection will be going home at the beginning of February.  
  • February 5th - Vertigo Theatre.  Cost $20.00.  Forms will be going home soon.
  • February 12th - Joane Cardinal Schubert rescheduled high school tour (tentative).  No cost.
  • February 24-28 - Bamfield Marine Science Centre  - approx. $1,500.  Contact Ms. Tulk if you have any questions.
  • May - Junior Achievement Economics for Success program at SAIT.  Approx cost $7.00.
  • May 28th - Grade 9 Farewell Celebration

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION

  • Registration information will be shared with parents early February.   Parents are welcome to look at the various courses offered before hand if they like.  See attached complimentary course guide on the right hand side of this page under Resources.
  • If you are thinking about attending another high school other than designated Joane Cardinal-Schubert, please take the time to check out school websites and open house dates.  
  • Henry Wisewood registration is January 17th.  They will require a copy of the grade 8 report card with the application form.  Parents will also need to email or bring a copy of the grade 9 report card of term I grades.
  • Career and Life Management (CALM) summer courses are available for grade 9s to register if they want to complete the high school mandatory course during the summer.  See link to register https://olc.crps.ca/Career%20and%20Life%20Management%2020.php

Provincial Achievement Exam Preparation:

 "The Key" study guides have been ordered.  The books will be distributed to students as soon as the shipment is received.  

ASSIGNMENTS AND GRADES

Please click the "Math and Science" and "Humanities" tabs to the left for weekly/monthly updates as to the specific topics students will be studying in class. All grade 9 classrooms/teachers will be "housing" assignments within shared Google Drive folders that all of your children have access to.  If you child is away or has a missing or incomplete assignment, please have them log onto their Google Drive account and access the appropriate folder to get access to the assignment. This year, parents will be able to check assignment completion and grades "live time" using PowerSchool.  Student also have access and can quickly log in using their CBE id # and password.
