If there are changes to your child’s regular lunch routine, please call the office prior to 11:00 AM 403-817-3408.

For the 2019-20 school year, students go outside at 12:15 for a movement break to begin their lunch hour. They are welcome to take a snack outside with them at that time. Students will return to their homerooms at 12:40 with their lunchroom supervisors to eat their lunch. They will remain in their room until 1:05 when their afternoon classes begin.

Please note that microwaves, hot water, and cutlery are not provided.

As the lunch period is a part of the school day, the same behaviour is expected of the children as outlined in the CBE Code of Conduct. The consequence of not following the expectations outlined by the lunch program supervisors will be a phone call to parents, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the program.

Nut Safe Environment

Some students in our school have serious allergies to products containing nuts. We would appreciate your support in eliminating nut products from foods sent to school. Students are asked not to "swap" or "share" snacks. Because of potential for allergic reactions, it is essential the classroom teacher coordinate any food brought to share.

The Lunch Lady

Elbow Park School is getting the Lunch Lady program!  This is a business run by May Hu which delivers lunches ordered online by parents to the school every Thursday.  This is in addition to the special lunch program and is different in that the choices are a bit more "everyday" (pancakes, mac & cheese, grilled cheese etc.) and also it does not require volunteers. As of Nov. 1, 2019, The Lunch Lady will be serving most of their food in compostable containers - this will make a huge reduction in the amount of waste that this program was generating in our school. A new menu and price list are effective on Monday, September 9, 2019 to reflect these changes.
First delivery date is Thursday, September 19, 2019, orders must be placed by the Tuesday prior to delivery.

To order, go online to www.thelunchlady.ca, click on "order now" and follow the instructions to set up an account, order and pay.  Orders are due each week by Tuesday at midnight. If your child is sick on delivery day, email May by 8 a.m. to receive a credit to use another time.

Download the menu and more information in the right margin.

For any questions you can contact May directly at may@thelunchlady.ca, or the parent coordinator for the program (Sarah Cherry) at bonderuds@hotmail.com.
