Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

Planning is underway for what the 2020-21 school year will look like for our students, staff and families. The CBE has created an internal task force with representatives from every service unit to lead the planning for different scenarios. All of our decisions will be guided by the advice of the province’s chief medical officer of health and Alberta Education guidelines. The safety and well being of our students and staff will come first in any decisions we make. More information will be provided to families before the first day of classes on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020.

School Calendar

We are a school that follows the traditional calendar.  View our school's Calendar for upcoming events and dates.

Noon Supervision

In order to eat lunch at school in our lunchroom program, all students must be registered. We do offer a school-based 4-day noon supervision program to our Grades 1-6 students.

Snacks and lunches should be easy for children to manage. Hot water and microwaves are not accessible for students.

During lunch recess, supervision is provided for students attending the lunch program.  Students who go home for lunch should return no more than 5 minutes prior to the 1:05 p.m. entry bell and line up with their class to re-enter school.

Please remember to call our main office to report a child’s absence/drop-in at 403-817-3408 (ext.0)

Registration and payment can be done through MyCBE/PowerSchool account.

For more specific information as to cost and registration procedures, please see our Noon Supervision page.

Assigned Teachers

Typically class lists are posted outside near the front entrance on the first morning of school, however due to COVID restrictions on mass gatherings, expect to receive an email from your child's homeroom teacher on the evening of Aug. 31, 2020 welcoming you to their class. Students will meet their teachers outside of the school at a determined time and meeting place in the email. Teachers will have signs identifying who they are. We ask that parents ensure that they have taken pictures and said, “Good bye” to their children before their teacher takes them to class. Parents will not be permitted to enter the building.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to enjoy our traditional "Muffin Mixer" social gathering hosted by our Parent Council on the first day of school. They typically provide muffins and refreshments and this has been a great way to connect with our learning community.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for registration details and forms. As mentioned, our school office will open on August 27, 2020 for registration.

School Parking Lot & Student Drop-Off

Please note that the parking lot is not available for student drop-off for safety reasons. We ask that you please respect the parking zones and driveway access along 36 Ave SW. Our parents create our own safety issues by parking too close to crosswalks and double-parking along this congested roadway during drop-off.

As we are a "community school" with no busing, we strongly encourage students to walk or bike/scooter to school. This is much safer for everyone, and offers a great opportunity to be physically active prior to school starting.
