Dance Regulations for Grade 5-9 Students

  • We love our dances at Elboya! Please ensure you are aware of and follow the following guidelines:
  • CBE rules/regulations and Elboya rules/regulations are in effect during all school events.
  • Dances for students in grades 5 and 6 are held immediately after school from 3:45-5:30 PM.
  • Dances for students in grades 7-9 are held from 7 to 9 PM. Admittance begins at 6:45 PM.
  • Students arriving after 7:30 PM may still attend the dance if they have signed the late list in the Main Office the day before. An expected time of arrival and reason why they are not able to arrive earlier are required. Ticket prices are not altered to late arriving students.
  • Guests are welcome and must be approved by Administration. Students must turn in the Dance Guest Request Form 1 week before the day of the dance.
  • Once students have arrived inside the building, they may not leave the building and return to the dance.
  • Dancing is expected to be appropriate for students in Grades 5-9 students.
  • Students are not allowed to use their lockers but will have access to a supervised coatroom.
  • Tickets are available at the door at a slightly higher cost than presales the week of the dance.
  • Students have access to the main gym, student area, cafeteria, coatrooms and lower washrooms only.
  • Students are not allowed on the stage for their safety and the safety of the equipment.
  • Students are strongly reminded to be very courteous to all supervisors.
  • The dance ends at exactly 9:00 PM. Parents are requested to pick up students at 9:00 PM.
  • Use of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. (Administrative Regulation 6005 – Student Code of Conduct)
  • Where a student has been found to be uncooperative they may be asked to leave the school building. They may call for a ride and wait outside or in the main office.
