Elboya is a place of learning and work. The standard of dress is expected to support the learning community. We expect and appreciate common sense and good taste with respect to clothing.  In the 2016 – 2017 school year, students were involved in a discussion with administration that resulted in some changes to the dress code.

The following items or practices are not acceptable:

  • Clothing with inappropriate design, logo, or print.
  • Underwear showing
  • Bellies showing
  • Halter tops – Spaghetti straps –muscle shirts
  • Very short shorts or skirts

If students are inappropriately dressed, they will be asked to change into their Physical Education gym strip. On occasion, the dress code is relaxed for special activities. Students are expected to adhere to specific instructions regarding dress for specific subjects/programs. Teachers provide instruction in these instances, e.g. appropriate footware for Physical Education. Elboya gym strip is highly recommended for Grades 5-9 who will change.
