If your child is registered for Noon Supervision and will be away during the noon hour, please advise us by leaving a voicemail.

Lunch Schedule

Grades 1-6   12:29 - 1.16 PM
Due to the large numbers of students in Grades 1-6, students will have a staggered lunch. Half of the students eat while the others go outside to play and visa versa. All students who stay at school must be registered. There is no immediate cost to register.

Grades 7-9   12:29 - 1:21 PM
Students in Grades 7 to 9 are encouraged to remain at school unless they are going to their own home for lunch. Taking friends home for lunch is only with the permission of both sets of parents and is strongly discouraged. Students in grades 7-9 have the privilege of going to local stores during lunch. Students are expected to handle this privilege responsibly. This includes taking care when crossing Elbow Drive, returning to school on time for afternoon classes and being a good ambassador of Elboya School in stores.

Friday Lunch
Due to the shortness of the lunch break on Fridays, Grade 7-9 students remain at school during Friday lunch.

No Microwave or Hot Water

Grade 1-6 students must not bring items that require microwaving or hot water. Due to limited staff and facilities, Elboya School cannot accommodate these items.

Refrigeration

Elboya School is unable to accommodate requests to refrigerate student food. On occasion a teacher may sponsor an event requiring refrigeration of food. In such cases, students take the food to the teacher.

Forgotten Lunch?

An emergency lunch (soup or sandwich) is provided through the cafeteria on the understanding that the student pays for the item on the next school day. Students in Grades 1-6 talk to Lunchroom Supervisors. Students in Grades 7-9 speak with Ms. Hendry in the Cafeteria.

Fun Lunches

Fun lunches are periodically scheduled and gives our students an opportunity to eat lunch, socialize with their friends at school and take part in special activities. For our upcoming fun lunches, please check our school Calendar.

Leaving School Grounds During the Lunch Hour

We make it our top priority to ensure all the children are safe during school hours. With this in mind, we diligently take attendance every lunch hour to make sure all registered children are present and safely accounted for.

We realize there are times when you need to speak to your child during the lunch hour, however, for safety reasons, we ask that you please check in with the school office before going on school grounds.

If you are taking your child off school premises during the lunch hour, the parent/guardian is responsible for signing out their student in the school office. Students cannot be signed out by anyone who is not on the student’s Emergency Contact List and even then we must have a parent/guardian’s consent.

Students in Grades 7-9 have the privilege of going to local stores during lunch. Students are expected to handle this privilege responsibly. This includes taking care when crossing Elbow Drive and returning to school on time for afternoon classes.
