Noon Supervision

Parents of children in Grades 1-6 have two options for lunch. Children can go home for lunch or be part of the Noon Supervision Program at school.

If children go home for lunch, their return time is no earlier than 5 minutes before school begins in the afternoon. If on occasion, a student wishes to stay for lunch, there is a $5.00 drop in charge for noon supervision.

Elboya has a 4-day lunch program. If children stay at school, they must be registered in the Noon Supervision through My CBE / PowerSchool. Supervision is available for students in Grades 1-6 on a user pay system

All students need to bring or buy their own lunch. Students in Grades 1-6 order lunch during homeroom form 9:10 AM to 10:00 AM daily, weekly or monthly as desired. Lunchroom supervisors collect and give the purchased lunch to students in these grades.

Students in Grades 7-9 line up to purchase their own food. Grade 7 to 9 students may eat in the cafeteria or at a location of their choosing in or outside of the school.

They may leave Elboya School property during lunch on Monday through Thursday with parental and school permission, which is conditional on appropriate behaviour at local venues and students being back at school on time for afternoon classes. On Friday, lunch for grades 7-9 is about 15 minutes due to the shortened day. Students are required to stay on school grounds on Fridays.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2019-20 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

Yellow school bus route maps are posted on the CBE website: www.cbe.ab.ca/busstop

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Oct. 31, 2019.

More information about 2019-20 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
