New to the CBE

If you are looking to join our school mid-year, contact us for information.

It is not possible to register at the school during the summer or other times when the school is closed; please visit us when we are open to register. You can find more information and dates on our Back to School page.

Non-Canadian students have a different registration process: please see our Non-Canadian Students page for details.

Out-of-Boundary Students

If you would like to transfer from one CBE school to another, please refer to the instructions in the request to transfer form.

When you are transitioning from middle school to high school, you will be automatically registered at your designated school (according to your home address and program).

What School is Next

Every child in Calgary has a designated school based on their home address and the program they choose. If you are going to be attending your designated school in your current program, registration is done automatically through your current school’s main office. To find out what your designated school is, use our Find a School tool. You can apply to attend any school, even if it is not your designated one. Each principal determines if their school has capacity to accept out-of-boundary students, usually after enrolment numbers are determined. For more information, contact the school you are interested in attending. Transportation services may not be available if you are attending a non-designated school.

Visit the CBE website to see when other schools are having open houses, should you want to learn more about your next school.

RT @CalgaryPolice: Update: School Threats Made Online There is no credible threat to any Calgary area schools tomorrow. We believe this incident was a hoax designed to fuel fear within our community, while spoofing the identity of an unsuspecting Calgarian. 1 of 2 - #yyc #calgary

RT @CalgaryPolice: We are aware of a spoofed image circulating online that represents a CPS tweet making reference to terrorist threats in #Calgary. We encourage people NOT to share screenshots of potentially fake or inaccurate information, and always check with verified sources first. #yyc

RT @CalgaryPolice: Re: School Threats Made Online This is currently under investigation but is believed to be a “swatting” incident. Investigators from our Cyber Crime Team have confirmed that the account in question was not local. No further info at this time. #YYC #Calgary

We are aware of the online threat. The @CalgaryPolice Service is aware and actively investigating.
