We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


Please review the links below, these will provide useful information and answer any questions you may have about your first day of school, and our day-to-day expectations of students. 

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Tuesday, Sep. 3 and the school office is open to parents on Aug. 21 at 8:30 AM.

8:45 - All Staff In Gym
9:00 - Gr. 10s Arrive (Meet in Foyer)
11:45-12:00 - Gr. 10s Return to Gym
12:00 - All Grade 10 Music students meet in Music room before going to food trucks
Lunch Break 12:00-12:45 - Food Trucks (Bring money)
12:30 - Gr. 11/12 Music students meet in Music Room prior to going to Gym
12:45 - Outdoor / Indoor Bell Rings for all Grades to move to King Gym
12:49 - Indoor Bell Rings / Welcome Assembly
1:00 - Move to HomeRoom
1:05-1:15 - HomeRoom
Period 2 1:23-1:43
Period 1 1:48-2:08
Period 4 2:13-2:33
Period 3 2:38-3:00
J Block 3:05-3:20
Buses 3:00 (Departure)

All ACCESS and PLP students will meet for the first day of classes on Tuesday, Sep. 3, 2019 at 9:00 AM and will be attending class for the day.  ACCESS and PLP students are invited to participate in the Passport to Success days on Aug. 22 - 27. Please check the website for alpha name and times. On the appropriate day, students will be paying their fees, timetables, and have their ID picture taken.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

CBE Spring Break runs Mar. 23 – 27 for Traditional Calendar Schools, until Apr. 3 for Modified Calendar Schools. CBE Schools are closed during this time. Students and Staff, enjoy your time off, be safe and take care of yourselves. #WeAreCBE
