Good morning Ian Bazalgette community
We have just a few thoughts to share this morning as we head into the first week of June. Teachers are looking to create a year-end exit project.  This exit project will entail asking the students to share some of the most important learning they have made through the year in response to the question they have been asked to investigate.  We are excited to see what the students will share and celebrate how far so they have come this year.
We are aiming to have the complimentary link out to students later this week as we run some tests on it early in the week.  We had a complimentary team meeting on Friday and the excitement they have already for where they intend to take their classes next year is amazing to hear.  We believe we are creating some amazing opportunities for students to enhance their learning.
Later this week we will also be announcing a time for students to come in and get any belongings they still had in their locker.  We have emptied the lockers and bagged up those items and labelled them.  Students will have access to the bag of items in the gym.  We will ask students to come in on their identified day by last name.  This will help us control the volume of people in the building and we ask that you honor the day identified.  If this is not possible we ask that you call the school to confirm a day when it does work for you.  A message will come out later this week with those days.
Report cards for June will be accessible online for families. We will be sending more information out mid-June to explain how parents can access that information. For those families that are not able to access the report cards online we will make alternate arrangements. Please stay tuned for more information to come.
Our grade 9 Team is working with our High Schools to help ensure that we have shared information about our grade 9’s that will help in the transition of them from grade 9 to grade 10. We are also working with our feeder schools to create opportunities for us to work with our future grade 6’s to ensure we have a good transition plan that way.
We continue to have the free lunch program available everyday from 11am to 1pm out in front of our school for those in need. Along with the food a local company Comrie’s Sports Bank: A KidSport Calgary Program has partnered up with the site to offer up sports equipment for use by our community. This is a grab and go scenario and those in need are encouraged to come by and see if there are some items that may help support students being active safely during this pandemic.  We are grateful to companies like Comrie’s Sports Bank: A KidSport Calgary Program for their support. We hope the students are getting outside and enjoying some sunshine and taking a break from being inside. We know this will enable them to enter back into their learning in really good ways.
Have a great Sunday out there J.
Stay well,
Terry and Jamie-Dee
