This is a course intended to develop skills and understanding related to a variety of outdoor and environmental topics. The focus of the course will include environmental awareness (especially composting and recycling), wilderness travel skills, group dynamics, leadership responsibilities, and a variety of related knowledge and skills. Students will organize and plan out trips. Material covered in class will be reinforced through participation in planned outings. Possibilities will include backpacking, cycling, skiing/snowboarding, rock climbing and kayaking.
