Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is September 3, 2019 and the school office is open to parents on August 26, 2019.

Friday

Monday to Friday

School Supply Lists

Grade 1 to 6 – supplies are provided by the school.
Grade 7 to 9 - supply lists will be provided by teachers the first week of school.

Noon Supervision

Students in Grades 1 to 6 are supervised during lunch hour (11:12 am – 12:00 pm).
Students in Grades 7 to 9 are allowed to leave the school grounds during lunch. However, there is a supervised area for these students in the school during lunch in the school.

Assigned Teachers

Due to ongoing staffing, classroom teachers are not assigned until our return in August. Classroom assignments are provided on September 3 when students return to school.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten begins with a staggered entry during the first two days of school (Sept. 3 and Sept. 4, 2019). You will be contacted with the day that your child will attend during the first two days of school by the Kindergarten teachers. One kindergarten class will attend on Tuesday, September 3 and the second class will attend on Wednesday, September 4. Daily attendance for kindergarten will begin on Thursday, September 5.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.
