Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is September 3, 2019. The school office is open to parents on August 28, 2019.

Please note, Kindergarten will be operating on September 3 & 4, 2019 with staggered entry and no bus transportation will be provided. If you are unaware of your child's assigned time for these days please contact the school. Regular Kindergarten classes, times and transportation will begin on September 5, 2019.

School Supplies 

Maple Ridge School will provide basic supplies needed for learning including items such as pencils, erasers, workbooks and crayons. Students are asked to have an appropriately sized backpack as well as a pair of shoes for indoor use.

Noon Supervision 

Noon (lunch) supervision is available for all students in Grades 1 – 4, for students who stay at school. For the safety and security of our students, it is important we know who is supposed to be in the program. All families must register their children in the lunchroom program. The best way to register your child is by going to preregister them using My CBE Account.

Assigned Teachers

Teachers will be sending home a welcome email to their students no later than the end of the day on Friday, August 30, 2019. This email will let your child know who their teacher is and where to meet on the first day of school.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2019-20 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Oct. 31, 2019.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.​​​
