One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Under the School Act, a parent society is a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. The school principal is not part of this group. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

Our Parent Society is Known as the Mayland Heights Parent Association

Mayland Heights Run & Walk Fundraiser – May 4, 2019

Get your runners on and join us for the Mayland Heights Run & Walk Fundraiser on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 9:30 am! Choose from a 10 km run, a 5 km run/walk, or a 2 km run/walk. The race course will be clearly marked, have water stations, and have friendly volunteers along the way.

We’ll award first-place prizes donated by Brost Chiropractic valued at $120 (for the 5 km and 10 km races) and a package of cool toys from Mastermind Toys valued at $30 (for those 12 years and under completing the 2 km race). Participants will enjoy a free after-race BBQ made possible with donations from Family Foods. For school families, each participant will earn points for your child’s class…the class with the most points wins and gets to choose the gym activity for a week of gym classes! There will also be a Kid Fun Zone for participating families with activities for younger siblings and children who finish their race early (parental supervision required).

Sign up with your friends and family! Make it a fun day together outdoors! And support Mayland Heights School! Remember that funds raised by events like these go to supporting class field trips, school materials and equipment, and other student needs at the school.
