Terry Fox Run

Hello Parent(s) and Guardian(s)!

My name is Sonja Deeks, and I am one of your son/daughters teachers at Mount Royal.  The PE team and I are planning to host a Terry Fox Run on Wednesday September 26th in the afternoon at South Calgary Park.  This event will go from 12:00-2:30 and will be a great way to remember, to celebrate, and to support our students, their families and their friends that have faced Cancer. If you would like to donate to this wonderful cause click on the link below to help Mount Royal School reach their donation goal this year.

For the run, we are looking for

  • -Parents/Guardians who would like to volunteer to help set up and/or clean up the run with me

***Please make sure that your Police Check is up to date with the office so you are able to volunteer for the run*****

- Parents/Guardians who would like to donate snacks for our students.  These snacks could include fruit, granola bars, and cookies.

- We would like to borrow big water jugs (the big camping ones) to fill for the students, as we do not want to purchase one time use bottled water (environmental consideration).

Please e-mail myself sjdeeks@cbe.ab.ca if you are able to help out in any way!

Thank you,

Sonja Deeks

Student Awards

We believe that individual growth can be encouraged through public recognition of success. At semester assemblies, students are honoured for excellence in academics, athletics, and citizenship.

Dances

We hold several dances a year at Mount Royal Junior High School. The expectations for all dances are:

  • Only current students of Mount Royal Junior High School are welcome at the dance.
  • Doors are open for the first ½ hour after the dance starts and then are locked. Students who need to arrive later or leave earlier than the end of the dance need to bring a note from a parent or guardian.
  • No food or drink in the gym.
  • Students are to keep their coats in the room provided. Students will not have access to their lockers.
  • The expectations for student behaviour and dress are the same as during regular school hours.
