Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


Planning is underway for what the 2020-21 school year will look like for our students, staff and families. The CBE has created an internal task force with representatives from every service unit to lead the planning for different scenarios. All of our decisions will be guided by the advice of the province’s chief medical officer of health and Alberta Education guidelines. The safety and well being of our students and staff will come first in any decisions we make. More information will be provided to families before the first day of classes on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020.

Start Up Days - August 2019

School Office phone lines will be answered to make registration appointments for the following week. The school office will not be open until August 26 at 8:00 AM

Lifetouch will be taking school photos and issuing ID cards.  Physical education clothing will be available for purchase.

Depending on your grade drop in anytime between 9:00-11:45 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM on these selected days:

  • Grade 10 - August 26 - 9:00-11:45 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM
  • Grade 11 - August 27 - 9:00-11:45 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM
  • Grade 12 - August 28 - 9:00-11:45 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM
  • PLP Students - Orientation Tuesday, August 27 from 1:00-3:00 PM

First Day of Classes - September 3, 2019

Our first day of classes is September 3, 2019.

The first day of classes we will have a staggered entry as follows: 

  • Grade 10          (9:00 to 11:45 AM)
  • Grade 11 & 12   (1:00 to 3:30 PM)
  • PLP Grade 10-12 (9:00 AM to 3:32 PM - Full Day)

9:00 AM to 11:40 AM

School Supply Lists

Be prepared with basic supplies such as binder, paper, pens/pencils, etc…Once classes begin, teachers may request something more specific.

Designated communities: Saddle Ridge, Martindale, Taradale, Castleridge, Falconridge and Coral Springs.

Volunteers 

Our parent volunteers are a vital part of our school success. To volunteer you will need to complete the CBE Annual Volunteer Form and also have a current Calgary Police Service Clearance – these clearances are valid for 5 years. To complete the CPS form you will be required to come into the school office with one piece of valid government photo ID.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.
