Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissals days and events, see our school calendar page.


First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is September 4, 2018.

The first day of classes we will have a staggered entry as follows: 

  • Grade 10          (9:00 to 11:30 AM)
  • Grade 11 & 12   (1:00 to 3:30 PM)
  • PLP Grade 10-12 (9:00 AM to 3:32 PM - Full Day)

School Start and End Times

Our bell times are:

Monday- Thursday 

9:00 AM to 12:15 PM
12:15 PM to 1 PM Lunch
1:00 PM to 3:32 PM

Friday

9:00 AM to 11:40 AM
11:40 AM to 12:00 PM Break
12:00 to 2:02 PM

School Supply Lists

Be prepared with basic supplies such as binder, paper, pens/pencils, etc…Once classes begin, teachers may request something more specific.

Medical Forms for students with severe allergies or other conditions: Please complete and submit to the office on the first day of classes.

Start Up Days

Lifetouch will be taking school photos and issuing ID cards.  Our daily timetable sample is here.  Physical education clothing will be available for purchase.

Depending on your grade drop in anytime between 9:00-11:45 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM on these selected days:

  • Grade 10 - August 27
  • Grade 11 - August 28
  • Grade 12 - August 29
  • PLP Students - Orientation August 28 from 1:00-3:00 PM (Grades 10-12)

Transportation

Designated communities: Saddle Ridge, Martindale, Taradale, Castleridge, Falconridge and Coral Springs.

Please check the Calgary Transit website after August 20, 2018 for the most up to date information.

Volunteers 

Our parent volunteers are a vital part of our school success. To volunteer you will need to complete the CBE Annual Volunteer Form and also have a current Calgary Police Service Clearance – these clearances are valid for 5 years. To complete the CPS form you will be required to come into the school office with one piece of valid government photo ID.

Starting August 23, we will be accepting appointments by phone for new registrations commencing August 27.

​Changes to My CBE Account

As of August 2018, the Calgary Board of Education has a new student information system which replaces the old My CBE Account. Parents who have not already done so, must create a new MyCBE/PowerSchool account to pay fees or apply for a waiver, register for transportation and noon supervision, as well as view student progress.

To create a new account go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on "Create Parent Account". Families will need to have their child’s CBE Student ID Number. 

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

There are a number of different ways you are able to pay school fees, including: online using VISA, MasterCard, VISA Debit or Interac Online; in-person at schools; or by sending in a cheque to the school or CBE.​
