Learning Commons at the CBE

Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.

Ramsay School Learning Commons

Library book exchanges occur weekly for each classroom. Students may also exchange books at other times when Ms. Belot is available or if they have been trained in sign out procedures, they can do it independently.

Please take the opportunity to teach your child to treat our beautiful books with care and respect, as well as to bring books back on time so that others can enjoy them.

Ramsay School offers some exciting "Maker Stations" in our Learning Commons. These stations provide the children with the opportunity to build, design, create, invent and to also to learn some crafts from days gone by. Ask your child about the work they have been up to in the Learning Commons.

Thank you to all of you who were able to stop by our Book Fair during our March conferences. It was a fun event and a big success! Scholastic has rewarded us with $1143.00 in free books! How exciting! The children have started to sign out some of our new books already! New books always inspire a desire to read!

Just a quick reminder about the importance of helping your child to return library books on time. This is a great lesson in responsibility and care for our beautiful books. Sometimes I am forced to tell a child that they cannot take a book home, because they just have too many at home and overdue. The children are so disappointed. Book Exchange days are as follows:

  • Kindergarten - Wednesdays
  • Grade 1 - Wednesdays
  • Grade 2/3 – Wednesdays
  • Grade 4 – Wednesdays
  • Grade 5/6 - Wednesdays

Please have a good look at home and send in any overdue Library books!!

Thank you!
