Principal's Message

Welcome Back to 2020!

​Welcome back to a new year - 2020!  A new year brings many opportunities to create goals for ourselves.
Here are  4 student New Year’s resolution ideas students can try:
1) Read More: Set aside time during each day for silent and/or out-loud reading. Be sure to chart your reading with reading logs to see how many books have been read.
2) Learn More:  Learning happens every day, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a New Year’s resolution to learn more. Whether they want to learn about another culture, learn a new sport or activity, or improve in a subject, students will love choosing their own learning goals.
3) Make New Friends:  Promote friendship by encouraging students to talk to someone new or to include others.
4) Be a Good Citizen:  Being helpful and being polite are just a couple of small ways that students can be good citizens. Helping to create a school-wide goal like recycling or picking up trash, will get students, teachers, staff and parents in on the action. 
I look forward to being a part of the culture at Roland Michener School and continuing with the great things that are happening here.
January looks to bring us a cold week ahead.  Students are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather on these extra chilly days.
