The school provides a safe and secure place for students to have their lunch break. All students must be registered in the lunch program to stay at school. Daily drop-in fees are also available.  Roland Michener is not a nut-free school, we are a nut-aware school. Students that go home for lunch may return to school no earlier than 12:45 PM when additional supervisors are outside.

To help support our lunch program, parents can:

  • Send nutritious lunches in a lunch bag labeled with their child’s name. It is appreciated when students bring their lunch to school in the morning.
  • Help students dress appropriately for the weather with all clothing items clearly labeled.
  • Remind your child not to share food.
  • Inform the school of any allergies and/or medical conditions.
  • Encourage packing litter- free lunches.

In the event of inclement weather, students will remain in their lunchroom.  Students that go home for lunch should return just before the 12:58 PM bell and enter through the front doors as soon as they arrive at school.

For more information visit our Noon Supervision page.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2019-20 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

Yellow school bus route maps are posted on the CBE website: www.cbe.ab.ca/busstop

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Oct. 31, 2019.

More information about 2019-20 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
