Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


First Day of Classes

On the first couple of days, we will have a staggered entry:

  • Tuesday, September 3, 2019; Grade 5 and Grade 7 students
  • Wednesday, September 4, 2019; Grades 5-9 students

The school office will open up to families on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

School Supply Lists

Here is a list of general school supplies. While students are encouraged to come to school prepared with a pencil, paper and eraser, as well as outdoor shoes; they are not expected to bring all of the items on the list to class on the first day of school.

Grade 5-6 Supply Lists

Each student is required to bring their own:

  • water bottle
  • indoor running shoes
  • sturdy backpack
  • agenda (optional)
  • protractor 
  • basic calculator 

The school will provide the following as required throughout the school year: 

  • notebooks
  • duo tangs
  • folders
  • pencils
  • erasers
  • lined, blank, and graph paper
  • pencil crayons
  • felt pens
  • glue sticks
  • rulers
  • scissors

Grade 7-9 Supply Lists

  • 2 binders- 1 1/2 inch preferred
  • 1 pkg of dividers
  • 2 twin pocket portfolios
  • 2 notebooks- 80-100 page
  • 1 ruler- cm and mm
  • 1 calculator- https://www.staples.ca/en/Casio-FX-300MS-Plus-Scientific-Calculator-240-Functions/product_19666_1-CA_1_20001 or similar (no graphing)
  • 24 pencils
  • 2 pens (red and blue or black)
  • 2 white erasers
  • 1 pencil sharpener
  • 1 pkg of 24 pencil crayons
  • 1 pkg of thin lined markers 
  • 2 fine tip Sharpies
  • 2 regular tip Sharpies
  • 2 glue sticks
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 pencil case- 3 ring to fit in binder preferred
  • 1 water bottle
  • 1 agenda (optional)
  • 1 t-shirt for PE
  • 1 pair of shorts or sweatpants for PE
  • Indoor running shoes

Students in grades 7-9 are required to change into a t-shirt and shorts/sweatpants for their Physical Education classes. Students are welcome to bring their own PE clothing from home, or they can purchase PE attire, with the new school logo, online: RTA Spirit Wear Store. Students must have good athletic shoes for their safety and protection. They are not to use hiking shoes, slip-ons or flip-flops for PE class.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2019-20 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

In October, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Oct. 31, 2019.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.​​​
