One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Under the School Act, a parent society is a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. The school principal is not part of this group. SPB Parent Association 2019/20 Year Update

1) Raffle TOTAL = $7,850 A huge success despite all the setbacks and challenges. Thank you everyone for supporting our efforts, our school and especially our students!

2) Summary of 2019/20 Fundraising Allocations by the SPB Parents Association

- Disc Golf - 9 baskets & 16 disc sets - $1,832.29

- 40 Chromebooks - $21,688.00

- Cart #1holds 40 Chromebooks - $2,551.43

- 20 Chromebooks - $11,017.50

- Cart #2 holds 40 Chromebooks - $2,551.43

**update from 2018/19- Wrestling mat came in at $13,023.87 ($13,321.77 give to school, but small discount given to school due to the mat's late arrival) therefore $297.20 was put towards iPads bought by school.

Yearly Approved Discretionary Spends

- Bilingual Library Resources - $2,500 

- Teachers’ Breakfast - $500 

- Healthy Hunger - $8,045.54 - for Bussing at the request of School Administration

- Not Given: Grade 9 Farewell ($500) (cancelled due to Covid-19)

3) BOARD Positions needed for 2020/21:

4) AGM Sept 22 (tentative date depending on fall re-enrty situation)
