Cross-country 2019 Season William Aberhart High School

Welcome to our 2019 season! Last year, the William Aberhart Cross-country team finished 4th overall in the 4A Provincial Cross-Country Championships and won two City Championship banners! We are looking forward to another great season with your child! As coaches, we value participation, leadership, team effort, physical fitness, a healthy lifestyle and sportsmanship.

Practice Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school for about 45 – 60 minutes, we will meet after the W.E.L.L block at Canmore park.  After the first two weeks, Wednesday is race day!

If you are part of another sports team, or you can’t make practices every day for any reason, please let one of the coaches know prior to practice.

Tentative departure at 6:00 am on Saturday, Oct. 19 from Marlborough Mall – return @ approximately 8:00 pm on Saturday, Oct. 19

*To be eligible to participate in City Championships, a runner must have participated in at least one of the first three meets

*Transportation, by bus, will be provided for all meets except for Canmore Park (walking distance from the school)

Fees

We are waiting for the Alberta government to confirm our anticipated fee for Cross-country.  Once it has been confirmed, the school will contact you to let you know when to pay for your child’s participation in cross-country.  The anticipated fee is $50.00 covering uniforms, athletics fees, and transportation, see coaches for a complete breakdown of fees. 

We will be offering optional team clothing, with prices to follow.

Additional costs will also apply for students qualifying to attend the provincial championship in Medicine Hat to cover transportation.
